Winter Harvest #4, 2019

  • Leeks
  • Onions
  • Celery
  • Fennel
  • Potatoes
  • Salad mix
  • Winter squash
  • Daikon radish
  • Brussels sprouts
  • Cabbage

We are winding down for December and hoping for mild weather while we are away.  Juve just tilled up two beds in greenhouse #4 and I seeded arugula, lettuce, mustard and kale. I am not sure this will work, but better to try something than sit around wishing I had in February. I am hoping for some leaves for a tiny mix when we get back at the harvesting on January 12th.  Hopefully people appreciate the salad mix as it took far too long to harvest. Wash it well and spin it and it should last. There is radicchio, escarole, arugula and lettuce to enjoy.

There was a super celeriac soup made at the Redd event last weekend and I am sending it via email to everyone. Dee made it last night and it is super! Best way to eat celeriac ever. It also uses the leeks and fennel (you could toss in the celery too).

Signing off for now!
